Study Abroad: School Education Gateway

PPLI have been part of the Expert Network on Recognition of outcomes of learning periods abroad in general secondary education which was initiated by the European Parliament and funded by the European Commission.

The project has looked at the barriers for senior cycle students across Europe who wish to spend between 2 and 10 months studying abroad, and have created: an analysis of EU Member States’ national policies on recognition procedures; a proposed framework for recognition designed by all involved partners and stakeholders; a training model to support schools and teachers in assessing transversal competences developed by pupils during their learning mobility; and information packs for each country including information for pupils going abroad and for pupils hosted there.
