World CLIL 2025 will be held in Maynooth University, Ireland. The conference is being organised by Maynooth University, Post-Primary Languages Ireland, and Queen’s University Belfast.
Registration opens in January 2025.
World CLIL 2025 is an international conference, and we look forward to welcoming attendees from across the world.
World CLIL 2025 is a fully in-person event; it is not possible to join online.
Please note conference organisers do not endorse any accommodation options, cannot assist with accommodation, or reimburse delegates for accommodation.
- Accommodation on Maynooth University campus is available at special delegate rates. A number of affordable rooms have been held but this is limited so we advise you to book early if you wish to avail of this option. To book, use the voucher code CLIL_10/2024 at booking.maynoothcampus.com. Please ensure you apply the code during your initial enquiry to view the reserved availability and access the special delegate rates. The voucher is valid for check-in from 12 June to check-out on 15 June. If you require additional nights outside these dates, please contact mccareservations@spcm.ie directly.
- The Glenroyal Hotel: A conference rate is available for 12 June and 13 June at the Glenroyal Hotel using the code GA001733. Please note that this option cannot be booked via the conference registration page; you must book directly with the hotel. The code will not be redeemable via the website. Delegates must call or email and quote the group code to avail of the rooms held. A limited number of rooms have been held so we advise you to book early.
- A wide range of other accommodation options are also available in Dublin city.
Maynooth is easily accessible and is situated 27 km outside of Dublin. Flying into Dublin is straightforward and there are direct flights available from most cities.
If travelling from Dublin Airport to Maynooth directly:
There are three options: take a taxi from the airport; prebook a taxi; and take a bus from the airport.
- Taxis are available in a taxi rank directly outside the airport terminals. The fare is metered and will usually cost approximately 50-60 euro. The journey takes between 25 and 45 minutes depending on traffic.
- A pre-booked taxi can be ordered by contacting Murray Cabs at murraycabs97@gmail.com or +353 872684399. (This is a firm that works regularly with the university). This will cost €60-65.
- There is an hourly service by bus. This takes about 50 minutes and leaves from nearby the terminals (see http://airporthopper.ie/ for a map and timetables). This service is €20 return. This bus will drop you at a stop which is a fifteen-minute walk to the conference and campus accommodation and five minutes to the Glenroyal hotel.
If travelling from Dublin to Maynooth:
- There is regular train service from Dublin to Maynooth. It costs €3.60 single and €7.20 return and takes 30-40 minutes. It will take fifteen minutes to walk from Maynooth station to the conference site and campus accommodation. The train leaves from Dublin Connolly station.
- Buses C3 and C4 go from the city centre to Maynooth very regularly (every 30-60 minutes) and go along the southside quays. They take between 35 minutes and 65 minutes to get to Maynooth depending on traffic and a journey costs €2.60. Please note you need exact change ready for the driver. It will take ten minutes to walk from the bus stop to the conference site and campus accommodation.

- When planning your conference trip to Ireland, it’s important to know that the currency used is the Euro (€). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but it’s always a good idea to have some cash on hand, especially for bus journeys.
- English and Irish (Gaeilge) are the official languages in the Republic of Ireland. The working language of the conference will be English. However, submissions in Irish are encouraged and there will be a parallel session in Irish.
- Ireland operates on Irish Standard Time (IST) during the summer, which is GMT+1.
