Collaboration with the European Centre for Modern Languages

The European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) of the Council of Europe supports excellence and innovation in language teaching across its member states. Through collaboration with the ECML, PPLI aims to promote high-quality, innovative language education in Ireland and remain informed on policy and pedagogical developments across Europe.

Collaboration with the ECML takes the form of coordinated project work, participation in international networks, and delivery of training and consultancy. This engagement allows PPLI to work closely with European partners and national stakeholders to support the implementation of plurilingual and intercultural education. The work aligns with PPLI’s national remit in supporting policy implementation, curriculum development and teacher professional learning, positioning Ireland as a leader in shaping practical European-level tools.
