Recruiting an Education Officer

PPLI is happy to announce that applications are now being accepted for the role of an additional Education Officer to support the implementation of Languages Connect – Ireland’s Foreign Languages in Education strategy.

The person appointed will be responsible for a number of key areas of work that are carried out by all Education Officers as well as working to implement and support the new Mandarin Chinese curriculum in schools. The person appointed will be expected to be familiar with the key issues at all sectors of the education system in Ireland, will have significant experience of teaching at post-primary level, qualifications relevant to language teaching, as well as at least some experience of learning Chinese.


The post is a full-time position contracted/ seconded for one year initially and is based in the PPLI Office in Blanchardstown. The Education Officer will report to the Director of PPLI. In addition to working with other team members on other projects and languages, the person appointed will also work with Chinese language expert/s and will facilitate and support the implementation of Chinese in schools.
