MFL Teacher Language Upskilling scheme continues

PPLI Post Primary Languages News and Information
The MFL Teacher Upskilling Scheme will continue in the 2019-20 academic year and is open for applicants. The scheme was developed under the ‘Languages Connect’ strategy to draw out the existing qualified, unused language capacity in our schools. The scheme is aimed at MFL teachers qualified in a language they are not teaching or are not teaching to full capacity. With upskilling the teachers can get equipped to teach a language again after a period of not teaching it, or they can expand their teaching, perhaps moving from junior cycle teaching to senior cycle teaching. With upskilling, schools are able to expand their capacity in languages provision or add new curriculum languages. Eligible MFL teachers qualified in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian or Japanese languages are encouraged to avail of the scheme. View the Guidelines.
